Chelsea’s Joao Pedro asks Fluminense fans to forgive him after scoring against them

After scoring against Fluminense on Tuesday in the Club World Cup semi-final match, Chelsea forward Joao Pedro asked the fans to forgive him.

Before raising his hands to ask for forgiveness, the Brazilian scored Chelsea's first goal after 18 minutes.

Fluminense was Pedro’s boyhood club.  In 2019, he made his senior debut there. He ended up leaving the Brazilian side to join Watford in 2020.  He eventually left Watford in 2023 to join Premier League side Brighton, and after two years he joined Enzo Maresca’s side this summer.
