What Really Happened Between Denise Richards & Aaron Phypers
On July 4, Aaron Phypers discovered intimate messages, selfies and romantic texts on Denise’s laptop, supposedly exchanged with another man earlier in 2025. He alleges there were plans for secret hotel meetups. When he confronted her, they initially agreed to stay together… until the argument that weekend erupted.
July 7, Aaron filed for divorce citing "irreconcilable differences," listing their separation date as the 4th.
Aaron claims Denise confronted the missing phone issue by hitting and scratching him, smashing his phone, possibly destroying evidence. That phone reportedly contained texts revealing her alleged affair.
He has denied Denise’s abuse claims, calling them “completely false and deeply hurtful” and insists he has evidence to prove his version.
In court filings (granted July 16), Denise delivered harrowing details of years of alleged abuse:
Repeated violent incidents: choking, slapping, squeezing her head and arms with both hands, slamming her head into a towel rack, and threatening her life. She says she suffered at least three concussions.
The final escalation (July 4–14): Aaron allegedly grabbed her arm in her office and dragged her to the ground, screamed profanities, pushed her down stairs, threatened she’d “disappear” if she called police.
Additional claims: hacking her phones/laptop, surveilling her communications, and owning at least eight unregistered firearms and bulletproof vests. She also described threats to kill both her and law enforcement if she reached out for help.
Aaron’s statements first surfaced in a TMZ interview on July 19, where he described the laptop discovery, smashed phone incident, and filing timeline.
Denise’s court documents, obtained by People, Entertainment Weekly, TV Insider, and others, provided photos of her bruised eye, legal details of abuse, and the temporary restraining order. The order mandates Aaron keep 100 yards away from her and her property until the August 8 court hearing.
Media outlets then shared graphic quotes, photos of injuries, and side-by-side timelines: Aaron’s divorce filing on July 7 versus Denise’s TRO filed on July 16.
5. Public Reaction & Legacy Shadows
A 2020 clip from RHOBH resurfaced where Aaron threatened to “crush” Denise’s hand, now seen under a darker lens given the allegations.
Observers and some fans poured back into Reddit archives recalling disturbing behavior patterns and gaslighting.
Now that the word "abuse" is circulating and "infidelity" is trending, we’re forced to ask: how did love turn into litigation?
This isn’t about who's guilty or innocent. It’s about how Hollywood turns vulnerability into a brand, and how couples that once inspired fans suddenly become content for comment sections. Whether it's Aaron's claims or Denise’s silence, the breakup has morphed into a spectacle, not a story of two humans hurting.
Was It Ever Real?
Let’s not forget Denise Richards has lived in the shadow of scandal before. From her marriage to Charlie Sheen to the tabloid frenzy of Real Housewives, her love life has never been just hers. And maybe Aaron, for all his zen and energy crystals, was never ready for that kind of spotlight.
Maybe they tried to hold onto something that only existed when the cameras were off.
Or maybe, they were always two people walking different paths… and finally stopped pretending to hold hands.
👀 What Now?
There’s no “clean” ending to this. No statement will make it right. But one thing is clear: this wasn’t just a breakup, it was the
slow death of a fantasy.
